Help develop the love of reading

There is only one dream that a mother could ever have and wish is for her child to be smart. Isn't it? How to be smart? Intelligent? Could it be enhance or genetic? If it could be enhance I would love to spend the rest of my life just enhancing my Lukee's love for reading. I guess it start there. Once a child loves his books more than any toys certainly he would do good academically. Isn't he? But, there are cases that no matter what moms do, children do and choose what they wanted to, and as if they have their own mind. I have been purchasing tons and tons of books for our Lukee, and we are simply hoping he would love it. We are hoping that we could help develop his love for reading. I am certain that with parents guidance somehow like trees, it shall bear fruits.
